- Prevent Material Build-up
- Provide Longer Idler life
- Aid in Belt Training
Cleveland Oak ribbed rubber idler covers installed on 5 in or 6 in diameter standard return idlers offer bulk material operations a return system with significant performance advantages over conventional and rubber disc return idlers, especially where material build-up or abrasion is a problem.
Ribbed Idler Covers are tubular sleeves extruded of high quality EPDM rubber compounded to provide high tensile strength, abrasion and ozone resistance. 60 durometer Shore A hardness provides flexibility to fight build up. The ribs on our covers flex as the belt passes working to keep material build-up from developing on the idler surface. Elimination of build-up is a key factor in belt training and system life. The covers will not trap the belt in gaps between roller discs as rubber discs idlers tend to do, and offer cost effective replacement advantages.
The ribbed sleeves can be installed in two ways: a chevron or straight pattern. The chevron pattern is twisted and allows the belt to run smoothly over the idler while the straight pattern acts as an effective belt beater. One idler covered in straight ribbed pattern installed near the head pulley will knock much residual material from the belt. Ribbed Idler Covers coupled with the TRACKSTAR return training idler combine to form the Cleveland Oak Return System fighting build-up, providing superior belt training and long system life.
